It seems they both let their families die out for one reason or another. Marcello and Trafficante actually were quite active after Costello. I had that wrong. But it seems these men just didn't recruit much after the 1960s. Their names were linked to the Kennedy assassination. That might have had something to do with them laying low and letting their families die off, too. Could have been a request from other families.
