The directing and introduction of characters was bad. It was like a minestrone of characters thrown together in a soup bowl. You had Irish Haitian, Italian , French and bikers thrown in and leaving the audience to figuring out on their own who is what.
It lacked Montreal Italian authenticity, the Nick Jr. actor didn't even attempt to act Italian. It looked amateurish.

Yes it was extremely corny.Not just the fact that the Kim coates character never existed but also the fact that tehy made sal montegna some big powerful foe.It was after a couple of weeks that everyone figured out that SM didnt have any backing either in the US or Canada that's why he was so easily killed.The should of focused more on Djerens or what ever his name was

The big mistake is too watch to the Sopranos and not to the Coleones saga.Would be a good idea to made a first season on Nick Rizzuto sr rise to power in the 1970s and how the Montreal crew becomed independent by the bonannos and the fact that Montreal for it position was a natural huge for alcool and after drugs.
Desjarden was the most powerful non italian members but in real life his siter married joe di maulo so he was really part of the big sicilian families tied to rizzutos.
The second series would explain how Montreal (and the canada) was very different by city like NY.
In Montreal the bikers,the irish and the haitians was too big to fight so Vito created a joint venture for the coke traffick.

For sure wasn't a big prodution and can't use all the real names but spend more time for the gumar story and and have desjardin portrayed as a single and desperate man and where are all the men of vito? had only Desjardin and Gio as killers?

So is it worth watching ?

Depend.I read the sixth family book and can say that was a canadian copy of the sopranos but for who doesn't know the rizzuto saga can easly watch it.

It really has nothing in common with The Sopranos except for the mob aspect.
