Trump’s signalling to North Korea is all over the map and that is part of the problem, the North Korean signals are fairly consistent.

North Korea's threats against Guam are not consistent because they're new, just like firing a missile over Japan. Trump has only been reacting to Kim's threats and actions.

Actually I agree with oak. They got nothing maybe not even the hydrogen bomb. They will have planes testing the air to see exactly what they did do. I think we should wait to those results come in first. Korea knows they really attack someone North Korea ceases to exist. Then we have to act. Mean while china does 2.5 billion a year with North Korea. China does over 600 billion a year with the US. That is a lot of Tucan can openers if they do business with Korea they might not be able to do business with the USA. I think china thinks we are more important to their economy then Korea.

Although I voted on the likelihood of war, I'm not confident that Trump is even capable. His self perceived "toughness" is seemingly based on his assumed superiority to one Barack Obama, but that is his subjective opinion of himself.

Many here don't understand why the United States is concerned about NK. It's not out of a fear of being attacked. No. It is rather more a fear of NK passing nuclear technology to the enemies of US and Israel. My take.

The US is constrained by international laws. The one thing protecting Iran and NK is their staying just within the bounds of international law. Notice how Iran continues to enrich uranium, but does so according to mutally agreed upon treaties. Notice how when NK fires a test missile, it almost always lands in NK waters or international waters. They are skirting the edges of international law. The truth of the matter is that NK could probably diffuse the current tense situation by ceasing the launching of missiles. They still would not have to give up their nuclear technology, or cavorting with enemies of the US. If the NK simply stopped launching test missiles, the US would be in an even greater bind.

Others may disagree, but I feel that to deal with the situation requires the US to go to the root of the issue which is international law. Make it stricter, so as to restrict and/or outlaw the use of nuclear weaponry outside of the nuclear "club". Then deal with Iran directly and not an armed to the teeth nuclear state.

No, Japan knows the effects first hand, and have been trying everything they can do to strive off this scenario, but NK is an asshole and it looks like Trump just got knocked in the head with common sense, or he is really just a coward and liar who is planning on backing down, after his tough guy persona has been checked.

I actually knew someone that killed his wife when I was a young kid. He cut her up and tried to flush small pieces of her down his toilet bowl. He backed up his toilet that is how he got caught. He had a couple of kids so he actually got out in bail so he could take care of them while waiting for his trial.

Not much talk about trump in the press lately. He has done everything right during the storms hasn't he? What happen no more collusion with the Russians to win the election. I guess the economy will get better, less people on welfair more infrastructure building. Tax relief for the working man more jobs. Wow he is doing a great job.
