Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ** (1st time; big screen) 2005, Burton, GB/US/Australia A down-to-earth boy living with his family in a poverty-stricken house wins one of five tickets to visit Willie Wonka's chocolate factory. Entertaining aesthetic feast which offers its best moments early on; the introduction and subsequent dismissal of the obnoxious children are highly satisfying, but the turn into family drama in the last half hour brings the film to a halt.
