in my reading of the mob, and looking at pics, I ran across a pic taken in the thirties of joe DiMaggio with "Richie the boot Boiardo" powerful new jersey boss, also in the book "five families" selwyn raab says that on the day of albert Anastasia's murder joe DiMaggio was in a hotel with him and santos trafficane.to what extent was joe DiMaggio's mob ties? anyone?? Probably not much, other than mob guys screwing Marilyn Monroe while he was married to her. Joe beat Marilyn frequently, including on the very night she took the famous photo where the steam blows up her dress. Joe was, as Marilyn described him in the HBO movie Rat Pack, a fuddy duddy. I suppose he might have met some of the Lanza guys in SF, considering he was from their neighborhood, North Beach.
"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

I mean it was bad.... when she was going with him, and even when they were married she was banging somebody else besides him. in the book it mentions that joe bought up copies of a porn flick she made with an agent named johnny hyde. said it cost joe plenty, but, he got the movie, and burned it,boy, did joe go through a lot with her,
" watch what you say around this guy, he's got a big mouth" sam giancana to an outfit soldier about frank Sinatra. [ from the book "my way"
