He said that in a phone conversation and wrote it in a letter to his defense lawyers, saying that they didnt kill Eddie Lino, that in fact he was a part of a hit team that gunned down Lino. He also said in the same letter that he couldnt "honestly disprove" that Eppolito & Caracappa had anything to do with Jimmy Hydell's kidnapping. In other words, he couldnt actually dismiss the supposed fact that they kidnapped Hydell. Thats why Casso wasnt allowed to testify and why the feds wouldnt continue any deals with him, he flip-flopped on his own stories and claims.


Hydells own mother says she saw the two cops take Hydell away, so there isnt much reason to believe that they were innocent of the crimes they were convicted for.
