Giuseppe Vatiero, 55, was shot in the head and is in serious condition in hospital. He was recently released from prison after serving ten years in prison. Vatiero was considered in the early 90's one of the leaders of the Mazzarella clan. The Mazzarellas, active for decades in the Poggioreale district, Forcella, Mercato and San Giovanni a Teduccio, is fighting for control of the illegal business with what is left of the Giuliano-Sibillo-Amirante-Brunetti clan and the clan Rinaldi.
