For those of you not familiar with him this is a big case in Philly now. Was wondering does Doc have any current or past mob ties? I know hes been investigated numerous times and indicted but never convicted of bribery etc but they don't mention mob ties. Im askin for 2 reasons 1) he came to power I believe in the 80s when Scarfo was running the city so curious if there was any overlap... And 2) their hq is in the heart of S philly and i know for a fact that one of the acting boss's kids (wont put his name) is a member of the union???very well may be pure coincidence but jw.. If anyone has any insight?

Side note im by no means casting any aspersions on this noble trade or the union as a whole.. My Cousin and the best man in my wedding are members of the IBEW ( yes i tried asking them my above question they're hard working guys but don't have a clue about union politics)... Thanks fellas

I did a little work into this with regards to the Philly family and my conclusion is that there's no mob influence with IBEW 98. If anything they're run like a sort of mob, but there's no influence of shadow puppet leadership or anything like that. As you can see by his case the FBI is already up there ass enough as it is if there were any side deals or payoffs or whatever then they'd be on it. I don't even remember Bruno or Scarfo having any influence with that union, but why I'm not sure. Ligambi's kid might work there and maybe some other connected kids, but I don't believe that has anything to do with them having their hooks into IBEW. If anything, I believe the Philly guys to have influence with other unions in the area, but not Local 98. I could be wrong though who knows.

Johnny Doc is a 2 streeter. No ties with the italians.

What's the deal with all the 2 streeters? Good amont of Irish kids that are all clicked up who don't seem to like Italians... I don't know if any of them are into crime but a lot of them are in docs Union. Pretty sure doc has a son probably early /mid 20s who hangs out with all the 2 street kids

I know Ligambi's son is IBEW as well. Would hate to see my beloved IBEW be corrupt, but I'm betting if it is, it is an inside union (with electricians not linemen).

That's what I think. If they were connected wouldn't the FBI have said so in the indictment?
