Resident Evil 2 Remake is 'Rebuilt From the Ground Up,' Capcom Clarifies

Capcom has cleared up confusion regarding the scope of its Resident Evil 2 Remake, caused by a recent statement in a company investor report which was interpreted as saying the game is a "remastered" version of the PlayStation classic.

Taking to Twitter, Capcom UK's senior marketing director, Stuart Turner, said "a few people picking up a mistranslation" of the investor report, and confirmed the game is a "full from the ground up remake, NOT a remaster."

In a video released on August 12, Capcom revealed it is remaking Resident Evil 2. The project is being headed up by Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, producer of the Resident Evil HD Remaster released in January 2015, and Capcom R&D Division 1.

In the video Hirabayashi said the project was given the go ahead by senior Capcom staff as a result of the "incredible passion and support" from fans of the game and the series.

"You've been telling us for years that you want Resident Evil 2 to be remade, and we haven't been able to make it happen... until now," he said. "We at R&D Division 1 will do our best to take on your feedback and deliver the gameplay experience you've been waiting for."

The development effort is in the very early stages of development, so Hirabayashi said "it will be some time before [Capcom] can bring you an update on this project."

"As the title is only just starting its development cycle we unfortunately don't have any additional information or assets to share at this time ... For now we want our fans to know that we appreciate all the feedback and support we've received on this title. We're looking forward to delivering this highly anticipated Resident Evil experience that fans have been waiting for."

Capcom's last Resident Evil HD Remaster was released in January 20 on consoles and PC. It broke sales records for the company, becoming the fastest selling digital title in its history across North America and Europe. To follow this up, Capcom announced the remaster of Gamecube exclusive Resident Evil Zero.

I had to take Just Cause 3 and the new Star Wars game off my kids wish list because of the bad reviews. Do you agree DonMega with the reviews?

Guns, Gore and Cannoli Launch Trailer PS4 - Xbox One

mob themed shooter got good reviews

Summary: Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a Tarantino-esque homage to the exploitation/grindhouse films from the 70ies, the gangster classics, and the old school 2D arcade shooters.

CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 3 AWAKENING DLC PS4 RELEASE DATE

Call of Duty: Black Ops III's first DLC map pack, Awakening, is slated to release on February 2 on PlayStation 4, Treyarch and Activision announced today.

The new maps are highlighted in a video released today—there's Gauntlet, a map based around a military facility with a few different environments; Splash, a playful, colorful abandoned waterpark; Rise, a snowy and deserted construction facility; and Skyjacked, a re-imagined version of the Black Ops II map Hijacked.

Awakening will also include the fourth episode of Black Ops III's zombies story, Der Eisendrache. This installment is set in a medieval castle built on a creepy ancient site.

Awakening is the first in a set of four map packs, and as Sony confirmed at PlayStation Experience, the maps will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 for the first 30 days, with PC and Xbox players able to download them later.

There is no exact date announced for the Xbox and PC release of the Awakening DLC. Check back to IGN for more updates.

Resident Evil 2 was one of my favorite games also, big fan of the franchise.

Even bought a gamecube just for Resident Evil Zero, so looking forward to their remake of 2.

Nom Nom Galaxy
PS3

Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back
PS Vita

The original story is below.

The next games being added to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection in Europe are Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy, it has been revealed.

Although Sony is yet to officially announce the titles, an image showing the games "coming soon" appeared in the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store. This was posted on to Reddit.

These games will be available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers to download on PS4. February's free PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games have not been revealed.

It is worth noting that the selection of free new PS Plus games available in other territories may differ.

January's free PS4 titles were Grim Fandango Remastered and Hardware: Rivals. If you have any interest in playing these games, download them before they are replaced.

In early January PlayStation network services were knocked offline. To make up for the issue, Sony promised to extend PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions for existing users. Codes for an one-day of Plus membership have been sent out since.
