I'm taking some days-off, so I want to wish you all a Happy, Healthy, Wealthy, Blessed New Year. Personally, 2004 sucked! Except for discovering this GREAT board, of course....

Happy New Year, everyone.
On this non-sectarian holiday, I am always reminded of the immortal words of the late Alan Sherman:
There was a man His name was Lang And he had a neon sign Now this man Lang Was very old So they called it "Old Lang's Sign"

2005 is a year to ponder about. Alot will happen, because it is still in it's wrapper. When the wrapper is ripped opened, that wonderful new gift smell will surely surround 2005 like every year before it. I hope 2005 is like my favorite soda. Having Schweppes Ginger Ale in glass bottle form is one of man's greatest achievement on this planet, so comparing 2005 to it will hopefully make everyone work that much harder in trying to make this the best year since 2000. The year 2000 was a year that worked so well because the people of the world saw the three zeros together and looking like such a nice number, decided to make it a better year, so that future generations could look back and see how amazing 2000 was. 2002 should have been better, because like the name "Otto", it is the same backwards as forwards in a sense. Now, 2005 does not have a close similarity to 2000 or 2002, but it could be a close cousin, in that the number 5 is very special looking.

0500 here, five hours into 2005, and so I'm the first one to officially wish everybody a Happy New Year!
A few minutes before midnight I put the TV on, and there was a one-minute's silence for the Tsunami victims; terrible stuff, and ended the year on a bit of sour note, to be honest.
But let's hope 2005 brings happiness and joy to everybody here, and I can only hope that its early part brings a swift recovery (if such a term can be applied) to the families out there in need of so much help.
Kindest regards to all. Thanks to JG and SC for a fine year of interaction, and here's to another!
