There were two Bonanno crews at one time.

Newark area crew.
Salvatore Grippi, brother-in-law to Nicola Schiro. Capo from 1931 to 1948. Stepped down due to health reasons.
Nicola Schiro, Capo from 1948 to 1956. Former Boss of the Bonanno crime family, fled to New Jersey after the Bonventres threatened him. Stepped down and moved back to New Orleans.
Antonio Riela, Capo from 1956 to 1976, and 1984 to 1987. Member of the D'Amico family of Newark till 1938 before transferring to the Bonanno family. Broke down to soldier in 1976. Stepped down in 1987.
Angelo Salvo, Capo from 1976 to 1984. Appointed by Carmine Galante in 1976, remained in Manhattan most of his time being a Capo. Died.

Joseph Ziccarelli, Broke off from Galante crew. Capo from 1960 to 1983. Died.
Gabriel Infante, Capo from 1983 to 1987. Killed.

Both crew would merge with Joseph Taormina as Capo from 1987 to 2003.
