I have no idea the actual numbers so I could very easily be wrong, also I'm well aware that the general publics perception of the different conflicts this country has been involved in has also changed drastically so I can see why the mob wouldn't be any different. It just seems like there were more future mafia members willing to serve during WW2 then some other conflicts, again I know that the public in general was far more supportive of that specific conflict..for good reason. Also it may just be that more big names came from WW2 so it could be easy to make that conclusion.
