I just read the SunTImes today, says the LOttery, of all things is losing money. ( lol) Did the mob run it better, like can it make a comeback if the gov can't do it right? (In my best MIchael Coleone voice," your numbers loses money, I think I can do better" lol)

In terms of it being run by the mob, it still exists, mainly in the NY/NJ area. Of course it's not nearly as big as it once was, nor will it ever be again. It's most prominent in the Hispanic, and to a lesser extent black, areas though even there I don't think it's as big as it used to be.

Here in Jersey the numbers are still around, you just need to know where to look. The LCN mob run off shore bookmaking operations also will typically have a page were you can make wagers on the NY state lottery number for that particular day. I'm only 30 and the numbers are almost non-existent to play within my generation.

So when my generation is in their 50s, I see the numbers being gone. I wonder if LCN will ever jump on the Draft Kings/ Fan Duel Fantasy Leagues that are basically gambling? The reason to go with them would be for cash untaxed payments and of course for being able to play on credit.....

Numbers are still around, but you have to know who to talk to. It is still big with immigrants here, more so with those being here illegally.
