My kid finished his season in Lacrosse, loved it. Who would have thought I gave birth to a lacrosse goalie. My kid is built like a tank so I think he blocked more shots with his body than using the goalie stick which to me looks like a pool skimmer. 100 bucks for that goalie stick mannagia...Anyways I'm signing him up again.

One funny thing was he fell hard and said his ankle hurt so everyone took a knee, including my kid. I had to yell out, they're taking a knee cuz of you duh. Stand up and go play. Also, being the Italian he is, while everyone was taking a water break he had to run over to me. He noticed the kettle corn booth was closing and he wanted something to eat after the game.

The guy who runs the league here is an east coast guy so it was extremely organized. East coast people really just make things happen right the first time.

A Missouri high school quarterback is set to make history when the team takes the field at the beginning of the football season. Liberty North High School will start 14-year-old Brooke Liebsch as its quarterback this season. The freshman will become the first female quarterback in the school’s history.

Liebsch may have more experience than most players on her high school team. She’s been playing football at the Pop Warner level for the last six years, which has quickly earned the respect of her teammates. “I used to play soccer and I didn’t like it,” Liebsch told Fox 4 KC. “Then, one day, I caught a football and I’m like, I want to play football. Let’s go.”

The young quarterback doesn’t mind playing across the field. The Fox affiliate reports she wouldn’t mind playing wide receiver or defensive back in an effort just to play. “Some girls say girls shouldn’t play football, which I don’t get why, because girls can do anything guys can do,” Liebsch said.

Her teammates have also enjoyed her playing style. “She plays like everybody else out there,” freshman receiver A.J. Wood said. “She works out like us. Nothing different about her, I guess. She’s a part of the football team.”

Liebsch is not alone in breaking barriers. More than 1,700 girls played high school football at 448 schools across the U.S. in 2014, according to USA Football. This spring, an all-girls football league was formed in Utah.

Pop Warner is a joke. Everyone is the same weight I saw a friend play on pop Warner when we were in HS.

Their is no weight limit in HS. She is going to get hurt.

Sure give some one with no quickness a crossing route.

Maybe a quarterback if all they do is run. If she has to pass how tall is she?

That's a really bad sports program if a freshman....male or female is the starting QB....unless it's the JV team. If she earned her spot...more power to her...but I'd hate for her to get hurt because somebody was trying to "prove a point or break a barrier". Football is DANGEROUS. Until kids reach puberty...some girls may actually be tougher and stronger than some boys BUT...once puberty hits...it's a different ballgame.

I agree though and so many refs often get decisions wrong that can cost games in the end too, especially in the smaller leagues. There should be good technology at this point.
