Capeci had an article on Grammauta not too long back, said nobody has heard from him in like 10 years. As far as I know he's still alive. I mean right up until this past year or so anyway. PB did you get my PM last week? I JUST pm'd you. That's weird!

lilo hung out at derobertis They closed back in December after 110 years. I heard they got close to 15 million for the building. Veniero's is still going strong, though. My uncle had a little room upstairs .

you come from 18th ,you know these little facts..jack could be found in every cafe or diner in that area..his aka in the nabe was chris columbus..nobody knew him ,then he was every place.. Eighteenth Avenue, specifically from 75th Street on down, though not exactly enemy territory, wasn't overly friendly either, as DiLeonardo related it. The area was rife with Sicilians, some of whom were made members of the Gambino family. An assortment of them, however, belonged to the Sicilian Cosa Nostra, mainly the Inzerillo family who'd fled the murderous Toto Riina and his Corleonesi. Dual memberships were not allowed. Those seeking to be made in America needed to be "released" from their Sicilian crime family. As DiLeonardo lived in Bensonhurst near 18th Avenue, he was the face of the Gotti administration. (Jackie Nose, mainly a Manhattan gangster, probably didn't know Bath Beach from Brighton Beach -- and wouldn't even be able to locate Brooklyn, meaning the entire borough, if given a map to consult, Mikie Scars said. "I used to call him Christopher Columbus," Mikie Scars said.) "Jackie knows nothing about the men in my area and the goings on,” Scars said. "He thinks 18th Avenue is new-found territory." Still, DiLeonardo has some fond memories of his former partner. "Jackie was a very personable guy. He can talk to you for 12 hours over coffee." He added: "I was very loyal to Jack, more than he knows. That’s a story for another day."

18th Ave is still full of zips, right? "Full" of them? No. There's not an a neighborhood left in New York City that's "full" of Italian nationals (meaning born over there). To clarify, I'm talking about Italian-born residents. The numbers aren't there. But there are obviously plenty of pockets of Italian-Americans in all of the outer boroughs, and predominant on Staten Island. Forget Manhattan. Just a few leftovers down Knickerbocker.

Pizzaboy (don't remember if I asked this before), among the American born people of Italian origins, do they still learn to speak Italian or Sicilian dialect etc for the most part or do they only learn English from their parents? You for example, do you speak Italian easily or with effort? My grandparents were born in Italy, not my parents. But I grew up in Belmont, with my grandparents in the same building for some years, so I learned to speak their dialect as a kid. And I spent eighteen months in Lauropoli, Cosenza, Calabria as an adult, so I'm a little different. Most second generation people born here can't speak a sentence. Italians took great pride in learning the American language years ago. All four of my grandparents arrived here as ADULTS, and they all spoke passable English by the time they all passed away. Nothing like the "new" immigrants, who refuse to adapt. Yet the fucking Liberals bow down to their demands, even the ones who hate us. You know, like some Middle Easterners. I said it. It's the fucking truth.

yes it is still gambino sicilian avenue,,but the cafe's restaurants ,clubs are..viilabate became alba combine..not enough to italians to support the area. That was my point. It's still the Gambino power base out there. But as far as other Italian-born residents, forget it. The Italian-Americans are running away to the suburbs. Italians aren't immigrating nearly as much. Chinamen and Pakistanis. Ten years. Tops.

I think with the middle easterners that move here, and this is from my experience working with them, is that they love the US and the country and what it stands for, they just do not like the American governments foreign policy. Then they should stay in Sand Land. Too fucking bad. You want to live here? You fucking assimilate. But you and I are night and day on this shit. You're a stone liberal from the suburbs and I'm a Centrist from the city. But I'll be happy to pm you.

Hey PB,
Hope all is well.
I think with the middle easterners that move here, and this is from my experience working with them, is that they love the US and the country and what it stands for, they just do not like the American governments foreign policy. I think that's a key difference.
Anyway, I'd appreciate a PM from you. I had a question I wanted to run by you. How about the Italians that came here then went to war against there own in WW2? Think they liked the policy? Tell those dirty fucks to stay where they were born then. I don't trust none of them.
When Interpol?
