"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Well, the other one is out of print... Although, I have seen the features, and they're nothing that I'd want to see more than two or three times. Both versions are pretty basic... I'll take this one for free, I suppose.
If I want to see them again, I guess I could just rent the old edition.

Capo, I really enjoyed Solaris and thought it was very underrated. Have you watched it yet? And what did you think? Here's some I just bought at some bargain stores in NYC. I was really happy to find Atlantic City and the Conversation, as all of the rental places in my area dony carry them and I wasnt looking to throw down 18 or 19 dollars for two movies I had never seen. I found them both for about 14 each, and Im usually picky about buying movies I havent seen before, but both of those were listed in this book I got, top 101 films of all time, so I kind of trusted that I wouldnt regret my purchase. It was really a relief to finally get Thief. I realized I probably just needed to buy it after about the 6th time I rented it, but it too was hard to find. Picked it up for about 14 or 15 in the same place I got The Conversation. And lastly, Raising Arizona, a great find at only 8$! I love used DVD stores.
I dream in widescreen.

My Aunt who works at NBC/Universal got this for free, and then used it as a grab-bag gift at my family's Christmas party. I ended up winning it in the grab-bag game. It looks pretty sucky, so I think I'll try bringing it to any store for exchange and saying I lost the receipt... If not, I'll watch it once for kicks before I maybe hook it up to some fireworks.

Aziatic, enjoy Ran if you haven't already seen it. Absolutely majestic film. MMTH, yeah, I saw Solaris yesterday. I loved it. A cool, detached film full of ideas and themes but not really committing itself fully to exploring them; if the content could have been meatier, the form is fine indeed, and it must be respected as a film which bares little overall resemblance to Tarkovsky's.
