We were in SF last T'giving, and visited Sausalito as well. Been to both many times. Always worth a visit.
Sterling Hayden was a fine actor with many good movies to his credit. He always played in character--one of those actors whose personality defined the roles he played. He was fine in a small role in "The Godfather." But, if you really want to appreciate him, check out "Asphalt Jungle," the finest American heist movie ever made; and "Suddenly," a little gem of a movie about an attempted Presidential assassination.
