i can find the active bosses and what not BUT i can't find anyone else. who other than the bosses are major players in the new york families mainly?

Use the search button. Carmine and Johnny family is the only family shown in the series, while two others are mentioned and George is showed during the sitdown and hinted that he belongs to another family. So it has 4 New York families, but Carmine family is the only one that interacts with the Sopranos and it's members are shown throughout 5he series.
