Irish, nice you got that new DEER HUNTER DVD. Tell us if it has a new improved anamorphic-widescreen transfer.
The quality of the DVD is definitely better and more noticeable. When I reviewed this movie a couple weeks back I watched the original DVD release. This blows it out of the water! The picture and sound quality are just something that needs to be viewed to really be appreciated. There's commentary on it but unfortunately the special features are nothing to ride home about. There's some "deleted/extended scenes" which are all pretty much from the roulette scenes and then there's the trailer and production notes. No interviews with cast and crew members brought back or anything So if you're interested in getting it, do so for the movie itself and not for the "special features" because they're anything but special IMO
