The Westside/Outfit connections have been plentiful since the beginning. The Genovese Family is probably the New York family that most resembles the outfit. Secretive, Americanized, they stress getting involved in legitimate businesses, and they play a lot of golf lol.

I threw in an lol, but I'm basically serious there. I think they realized a long time ago that friendly business is easier to conduct on the golf course than in the boardroom or in the street. The two groups often met in Palm Springs for golf weekends. This was as recent as the early '90s. Today, probably not so much, except for all of the Outfit and Westside guys retired out there (and there are quite a few).
