All the other mentions of the DeCavalcante's & the Taccetta's, didn't come from Chase, at least I haven't seen it. The DeCalvacante's came from the members themselves who watched the show and were picked up on wiretaps comparing themselves to the characters. And I don't know where the Taccetta connection came from, but I've never heard or seen Chase himself refer to it.


I'm sure many things in the show were based on the Boiardo crew. But, as I said, the basic concept of a small, indigenous family in Jersey is certainly not based on the Boiardo crew but obviously the DeCavalcantes. That can't be disputed.
