VanillaLimeCoke: Lousy school violence these days. Not even a 6th of the way through September and we've already had a psychotic violent school shooting.
Toodoped: Word. Few days ago, over here, they caught one teenager with a gun and more than 60 bullets, while going to school. I wonder what was his plan ?!

No offense but that song sure killed my passionate mood. I thought I was going to have a thrilling night! But instead I walked my dog and then gave him a bath.
What?, no passion for drinking and tap dancing and crying about your dog?

^ Great guitar player. Just didn't like the music played with Marilyn Manson. Always thought Manson's electro-pop-rock stuff sucked Like his stuff with Rob Zombie more, even if Zombie doesn't play the greatest music either. I dug his movie The Devil's Rejects a lot though.

I only like the first albums of Manson and Zombie. As for the devils rejects movie it was fuckin awesome.

Agreed, best movie he's made yet. Actually I like him better as a film director than as a musician. He gets a lot of crap for his remake of Halloween. And while the remake does indeed suck, the original in my opinion already was overrated as well. I actually thought it was quite interesting what he did with the Halloween sequel. His first movie, House Of 1000 Corpses, was all over the place but fun. Lords Of Salem was good, his second best movie. Point being: he isn't a bad filmmaker. He has a good eye behind the camera, is capable of producing a great atmosphere and great visuals and he has vision and creativity to booth. And while 90% of what you find within the horror genre is pure and utter shit (IMHO), at least Zombie is capable of producing some of the more interesting stuff.

In other words, if you like old school horror movies than Zombie is the man

Exactly His music on the other hand, just isn't my style. Shockrock is, in most cases, a genre I can't stand Have to thank Zombie though for introducing me to this album:
The song "Seed Of Memory" plays over The Devil's Rejects' end credits. True hidden gems to be found on this album. Surprised it isn't more well known than it is.

Yeah you're absolutely right, that Terry Reid song was pretty cool. I also loved the scene with the Free Bird song by Lynyrd Skynyrd going in the background. And i also have to say that his movie Lords of Salem introduced me to this song...funny i've never heard it before

Yeah that's another good example of what sets him apart from most other directors within the genre: he has a great taste in music. The music he uses in his movies really contributes to the overall experience and greatly enhances the atmosphere. I'm beginning to sound a bit too much like a fanboy now

"It's Impossible," by Elvis Presley. He took elevator music (no offense to the great Perry Como), turned it on its ear, and made the song his own.
The man could sing any in any genre, from Gospel to Country, to Rock and Roll, to Rhythm and Blues, to Easy Listening. And he was able to master each and every one of them. They didn't call him The King for nothing.
Now, real quick and without thinking about it. Think of Elvis....now, real fast....think of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus .

Obscure to a kid your age. "So Young" went national on the old Checker label. Very rare back then (and I'm fully aware that the song came out a year before I was born, but I still have twenty-one years on you ).

Great songs. I love all those doo wops reminds me of the good ole days of my childhood. As soon as the music started I knew everyone was on their way over. My job was to get all the ash trays out and set them up at each poker table. This was the 1970's.
Later on my favorite songs would come on again either Yakety Yak or Pretty Little Angel Eyes and by that time it would be midnight. That's when all the olives would come out with the cold cuts gabagool etc and I would put an olive on each of my fingers and dance around like a "gypsy"( they'd say) to those songs. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Just so you know Toodoped, I started cracking up when after the intro to Welcome to the Jungle, instead of Axl's voice, I heard a guitar. For some reason I found that comical. But that's good music by real musicians there.
Enjoy...
