I don't understand why they don't say death penalty or not right in the same courtroom on the same day.

Death penalty is stupid. I would agree with it if it didn't cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in appeals. Put this shidrul in the cell next to Basciano and put a hole in Vinnie's cell big enough for a shank.

He needs to die and it's too bad he cannot be tortured. Back in the 90's I heard that it costs around $75.000 per year to keep a person in prison. I am sure that the costs have skyrocketed by now. I might be wrong, but don't they require a unanimous jury verdict to put him to death ?? If so, there was one jurist who already said she doesn't like the death penalty. The jury pool has to be full of liberals being in Boston. Whatever the penalty, it's too bad he can't take his mother with him

I think you are thinking of Casey Anthony, she was acquitted of murdering her daughter

Jodi Arias murdered her boyfriend

Sands Point doctor accused in murder-for-hire plot
Updated April 15, 2015 5:20 PM

The DEA says Dr. Anthony Moschetto, who worked in Great Neck, sold blank prescription pads, pain pills and assault weapons. (4/15/15)

MINEOLA - A Sands Point cardiologist charged in a murder-for-hire plot was described as “a new breed of drug trafficker” by prosecutors Wednesday.
The DEA says Dr. Anthony Moschetto, who worked in Great Neck, sold blank prescription pads, pain pills and assault weapons.
The 54-year-old divorced father of two children was the alleged mastermind of an elaborate plot to have his former business associate and fellow cardiologist Dr. Martin Handler beaten and killed over a business dispute.

Moschetto is accused of hiring James Chmela and James Kalmaras to set fire to Handler’s office. No one was hurt in the February fire.
The monthslong investigation by Nassau police and DEA agents began with prescription pills. Nassau's district attorney said undercover agents were also able to buy heroin and assault rifles from Moschetto.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the Sands Point home and say they found a cache of weapons, including a hand grenade. Investigators also say they found a stash of illegal knives and other weapons inside a secret room in the basement that was only accessible behind a moving bookshelf.
Dr. Moschetto pleaded not guilty in court and is free on bail. His attorney says his client has an “unblemished record.”
“He will be vigorously defending all of these charges,” said attorney Randy Zelin.
According to the District Attorney's Office, undercover agents were able to buy 400 oxycodone pills and about 200 bags of heroin, in addition to assault rifles between December 2014 and March 2015.

I was reading this article couldn't believe that at just that one checkpoint in San Clemente they seized 1700 pounds of cocaine worth $22 million last year!!

Here's article it's from the OC Register.

U.S. Border Patrol agents at the San Clemente checkpoint on the I-5 arrested a man Tuesday night after discovering $204,620 worth of cocaine hidden in a secret compartment in his car.

The agents found six bundles of cocaine weighing 16 pounds, a statement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

The 28-year-old suspect, who is a U.S. citizen, was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra when he was selected for an extra inspection upon his 7:20 p.m. arrival to the checkpoint.

A K-9 alerted the agents after sniffing around the car. The drugs were found in cellophane wrapped packages inside the secret compartment, which was built into the rear speaker partition.

The vehicle was seized by the border patrol.

The checkpoint is operated by the agency's San Diego office. Agents confiscated 1,700 pounds of cocaine worth $22 million last fiscal year.

I'm kinda torn about the death penalty. As much as he deserves the chair (or worse) martyrdom was the end game. So I think in this particular instance life is better.

I think Revelation references the Dallas area:

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the Dallas area has suffered almost 40 small earthquakes (magnitude 2.0 or higher) since the beginning of this year, the latest a magnitude-2.7 quake near Farmers Branch on Saturday. Many of the epicenters were recorded in Farmers Branch and Irving, with a couple to the south in Venus.

lol 2.7 quake now that's funny. I don't get out of bed for anything under a 4.1

Interesting article thanks for sharing. 3 miles from the surface is pretty strong but not if only a 2.7 if it was a 4.5 it would knock you down. Most of the quakes here are 8 miles or deeper 12 to 30 mi. being more of the norm.

Here's a rich one from my home state:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, self-described "toughest sheriff in America," notorious for harassing anyone looking like a Mexican and often cited for violating civil rights of Hispanics, was feted by a GOP organization here yesterday. The restaurant where the event was held: Puerto Vallarta Cantina. lol
