I wonder if in the near future Westside and Luccheses just merge into one family. Seems plausible.
If in 40-50 years the mob in NYC is on its last legs, they would be the two families I would imagine to merge together. The Gambinos and the Bonnanos for that matter as well. Colombos would probably be pretty much gone (after their 4th war of course

i don't think there will ever a "merging" of 2 families discussed in a sitdown, no matter what. More plausible, and apparently already done by the gambinos, is a takeover ("we are now run by") like rescently discovered with the decavalcante's
