I don't go on the subway without the proper personal protection, I worked in the NYC Transit system for more than 30 years and I've seen first hand some of the scumbags that use that system as a hunting ground.
The guy who got hit besides being a pussy was probably not paying attention what was going on around him. He probably looked like an easy mark.
