I just mentioned pepper spray cuz it's so insignificant but still regulated. I'm not gonna walk around with a gun because if I use it I would probably end up with my own legal battles. A zapper will bring anyone down.

Not if you use it in self defense. "Well, I'm not looking for no trouble but nobody dogs me 'round"

I think you will find that most states [like mine] where its easy to get a carry permit, have less crime than states where its hard to get a permit.

I have had a carry permit for 3o years, an armed society is a polite society.

Anyone who has the mentality that carrying a gun will cause them legal problems is someone who has clearly lived in an area controlled by liberals for an extended period (i should know, I lived in New Jersey for most of my life). It's a sad state of affairs when upstanding citizens feel that having a gun automatically leads to legal problems.

The second amendment is in the US constitution for a reason. Historical precedent provides that those governments which have become tyrannical, totalitarian, or abusive, have in most cases made strong attempts to disarm society.

For example, Germany began a strong campaign to disarm its citizenry in the 1920's. This continued on in the 1930's when the Nazis (the National SOCIALIST party for all you liberals) enacted stronger legislation. The national socialists strongly restricted firearm ownership among its citizenry and made firearm ownership outright illegal for gypsies as well as those deemed by the government to be undeserving of possessing civil liberties. As time went on, Jews and homosexuals (which makes sense as many high ranking Nazi officers were self hating homosexuals) were placed in that category. Its a-lot easier to arrest and slaughter millions of people when they cant fight back.

An interesting video from one of the rappers from my favorite rap group. His take on guns.

I think even if you own guns legally you still should have guns that are illegal just in case.

In case some government agency passes something that says you must turn in all your guns or they come to collect them.

Then after that happens you still have some hidden just in case.

I did grow up in a northeast liberal state and that's why I do think of legal problems. I agree with footreads that you do need illegal guns if you have legal ones. At least then you can say it was his and you got it in a struggle and shot him real quick. I've heard the horror stories of some guy who shoots an attacker and winds up in court with the state deciding whether or not he used 'an appropriate use of force'.. what if the answer is no? Now you get prison for defending yourself. It's fucked up with these gun laws

The government agency would have no capability of knowing whether you have guns if you lived in about 38 states in the US. Because in 38 states, there is no compulsive registration. Meaning your not required to register your firearms. In fact, it would be impossible for you to do so. The only way for that hypothetical government agency to get your guns would be for you to hand them in yourself.

I worked in a pawn shop for 20 years, I have sold a thousand guns, until the brady bill of 1993, all you had to do to buy a gun legally is fill out a form #4473. the form stayed with the store where you bought the gun.

after the brady bill you had to call in a nics background check, and it remains that way today, if you bought a gun in a store after the brady bill, you had to go through a background check.... unless you had a concealed carry permit then there is no check just a form you fill out #4473.

the government, unless you bought a gun from a private party, or a gun show, probably knows whether you have a gun or not.and
that can be attributed to that rapist bill Clinton.

oh, and by the way the form#4473 came into being after the assassination of Robert kennedy, before 1968 when you bought a gun there was no form to fill out at all. and no check whatsoever.

the forms, and background checks took away our freedoms.
my opinion.

That's an excellent point Binnie. I was more coming at it from the angle of where, even though you have to do a quick FBI background check even in Red states, that I doubt they were keeping close track. But then again, it is possible that every time the FBI gets a call from a gun shop asking for a background check on an individual, they keep track of it.

I was more speaking to compulsive state registration, which is only on the books in a minority of states.

yes, I understand where you are coming from, and the batf, which is a rogue agency, have tremendous power, and control over gun stores, they can come in an look at your books anytime night or day without warning, and the slighted mistake in your bookkeeping can mean a loss of your ffl [federal firearms license]

and yes, they keep track of every nics gun check, they are all on computer with the nics transaction number.

its all a big mess. if you are not a resident of the state where you want to purchase a pistol, federal law denies you from owing it. no sale. if you want to buy a rifle from out of your state then your state must not have a waiting period for a rifle or you cannot buy one.

It's even legal to open carry here

Not a big fan of open carry. Safer to conceal your firearm.

This is why it has become necessary to carry a GUN AT ALMOST ALL TIMES EVEN THOUGH IT IS REALLY A PAIN IN THE ASS.
