He was legit and went on to live a pretty regular and otherwise boring life.

-I shot him a coupla' times.
-What's a couple?
-Hmm, more than a couple... Really I don't know the exact amount, maybe I shot him 10 times, 12 times?
-Maybe fifteen?
-Hmm, it could've been fifteen...

Two interesting infos about Sonny are when during the late 1950's the "Untouchables" series were made, Sonny called the producer of the show and threatened him for making his dad look bad and for using his dads image for profìt. Theres a rumour that some of his fathers old friends wanted to take care of the problem in their own way. In later years theres also a report where Sonny was overheard in a restaurant drunkenly trashing the Kennedy's and said something like Ted Kennedy should be killed also.

Al Capone's son, became almost deaf because of syphilis of the father, so even if it would not have been able to follow his father's footsteps; and in any case the relatives of Capone lived well for a long time because the money of Al.

Albert Francis Capone (December 4, 1918 – 2004) (also known as Sonny) was the son of Al Capone.

Albert Francis was born in Chicago in December 4, 1918 to parents Al Capone and Mae Coughlin.

Albert Francis was born with congenital syphilis, which his father, Al Capone, had contracted many years before. At the age of seven Albert developed a serious mastoid infection. Risky brain surgery was required. The boy survived, but was left partially deaf. On the boy's 10th birthday, the Capones threw a party for him, inviting 50 of his Catholic school friends. Al, not wanting to offend the already watchful authorities, stipulated that the children must bring signed parental permission slips. Though it may certainly have been curiosity about their infamous neighbor that motivated them, few refused the invitation to this or other Capone gatherings.

Sonny married Diana Ruth Casey in 1941. Together they had four children, all girls.

In contrast to his father, Albert led a lawful life, with the exception of a misdemeanor shoplifting conviction in 1965. He received a two year probation sentence. The following year, 1966, Albert changed his name to Albert Francis Brown. Brown had been a frequently used alias of his father.

Albert Francis died in 2004 in Florida.

Mary (Mae) Coughlin Capone (also known as Josephine) was the wife of Al Capone.

Mae Coughlin was born on April 11, 1897 in New York City to Irish parents Michael Coughlin and Bridget Gorman. She had four sisters and two brothers. Mae Capone was raised in the Carol Gardens section of Brooklyn, NY.

She was two years older than her husband, and they did not marry until after she gave birth to their son, Albert Francis Capone ("Sonny Capone"). After she was married to Al Capone, she lived in Amityville, Long Island also known for its illegal moonshine trade.

She died at 3:35 am on April 16, 1986 at the Hollywood Hills retirement home in Hollywood, Florida

Did I read somewhere that he met with Ricca about something and Ricca did him a favor out of respect for his late father? I forget what.

I read recently that Sonny once reached out to Murray Humphries in the 1940s and requested money to help his mother through some medical issues - Hump brought it up with Accardo and Ricca and they said "no - you wont get any more than we are giving you currently" and that was that. I may have read that on the boards somewhere recently so apologize if I don't have the facts straight.

I do know the Outfit had a terrible habit of extorting the kids of former bosses. Paul Ricca's sons (Paul Jr) and Bobby were both extorted.

Wow, really? I'm a little surprised, maybe I shouldn't be but I am. I thought they could have helped him out outta respect for his dad who was a legend, but really there's only crooks in that world... there was never any honor, not then not now.

I'd like to know more on the story about Ricca's kids if possible.

I read he got a regular stypind but wanted extra for a business venture. He asked Curly. They (Ricca, Accardo, and Curly) gave the ok, but Mooney vetoed it. Since he was the boss that was that.

I think your right but capones wife was getting paid from the outfit up until she died I believe. At least that's what I read somewhere. Can't remember where I saw it though

In the 40 ' s al capone was receiving alot of money from the outfit, it had to have been after he died

I read that same thing in one of roemers books. it came over on a wiretap that the fbi had in the armory lounge. some reason giancana didn't want to give sonny capone anything

interesting about ricca's sons being extorted, never read anything about that.

" watch what you say around this guy, he's got a big mouth" sam giancana to an outfit soldier about frank Sinatra. [ from the book "my way"

Sonny Capone a war hero? I'm not certain but wasn't he deaf in one ear which may have made it difficult to enlist?

Mario Gomes would check in here from time to time. He is the closest Capone expert known out there. However, he was involved in a terrible car wreck a few weeks ago and I wish him the best in his recovery. Meanwhile, check out his terrific website...
