In Martin Scorsese's "Casino," the casino interior scenes were filmed at the Riviera. This piece of film and Las Vegas history will be closed this summer and demolished to make room for additional space for the Las Vegas Convention Center.
http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/ca...enter-expansion Oh man. I'm sorry to hear that, but mostly for sentimental reasons cause I stayed there often. I just stayed there last year when I met a couple friends there. All the old casino/hotels are going.
Seeing all the modern hotels going up on the strip, I can understand why it's being destroyed but it is kind of sad. I really think however, they should keep The Flamingo. That one is so historic and if I'm not mistaken the first casino in Vegas. Then again, I suppose they will always keep the name but perhaps modernize it more.
