Farmer was ordered by the owner to take Manziel. Farmer wanted Bridgewater. There is zero doubt in my mind that this was a PR and jersey-selling pick. Haslem was infatuated w/J Football image.
That's excellent speculation that Haslam ordered the pick, but I know Farmer was high on Manziel as well. As an Ohio native, I remember well the local news outlets saying prior to the draft that Farmer loved Manziel. Anyhow, a clear cut example (if true) how owners should let the football minds handle the football business.
