The author does try to find other sources for Jon's stories and he puts them in footnotes, but many of them he can't confirm and others are shaky at best. Like citing a police report or newspaper story that describes an incident that is vaguely similar to what Jon's story says but has no mention of Jon or anyone else. I mean I'm sure there was a police report of the Joey Gallo murder but that doesn't mean Frank Sheeran was the killer (as he claims in his book). But it's a fun book to read.


But you see, the rest of us commenting on this thread finished the book already. I originally had the impression that you did also.

Jon's account of his experiences in clubs is entirely credible on account of the parts of the book that quote the king of clubs at that time, Bradley Pierce.
