Prices of what gas stations can sell gas are regulated closer now so no price gauging? But years ago if the gas station manager heard gas was going up per gallon. They would change the prices per gallon to reflect the price they heard even though they still payed the lower price that they paid for it.

So if they heard on the news gas was up that increase their profits.

During the gas shortage their was a station that you got gas from a pump that was out of out of sight from the street. They sold gas for what ever price they wanted. People would pay it because it was better then not being able to drive.

They would buy stolen gas at a low price and they sold it for high price. I loved greedy bastards like them.
