400 may be on the high side today, considering how the neighborhood is changing. But when 86th was 90 percent Italian? 400 calls a year easy.

One of the grandsons did his residency at one of the Jewish chapels in Manhattan. Jewish funeral homes are the BEST places to work your residency. Bar none. The work is fast, and the embalmings are few and far between. You basically move bodies for a year and a half. But I'm not sure if he works on 86th Street today.
