burke taking over a shylock operation from a made Gambino does seem odd, but, from what ive read, that's why batts was killed. nothing like in the movie.
He did in fact made some sneer remarks to Tommy DeSimone and piss them off, although that wasn't the reason for him getting clipped, obviously.
