Too bad they have not opened up the rest of the oil field to drill on maybe gas would be for free. Kinda like if we've been stealing oil from other countries for ten years Gas should have been free yyears ago Give me a break. You're acting like Bush was the first President who had an ulterior motive when it comes to oil and the Middle East. It's been going on since forever. We should have taken Iraq's oil to pay for the war. In fact we should have completely taken over their fucking country oil fields. I agree with this now. But up until a few years ago I was still on the fence about it. But today? If we're gonna be at war anyway, we should use nuclear force, kill as many sand monkeys as possible, convert the survivors to Christianity and Judaism, then take their oil. No more Muslim threats, no more oil shortage in America. Two birds with one stone.

The fluctuations and disparity between stations is getting ridiculous. True. I was up in Yonkers earlier today and saw a Citgo and a Getty right next door to each other. Getty was getting $3.33 for regular, Citgo was getting $3.10. Now granted, Citgo is an "off brand." But it's still a big disparity.

How far apart were the stations, PB? My experience has been that if a station is the only one in a 2-5 mile radius, it'll charge a lot more than if it's in a cluster on a major road. Not sure if you're familiar with Bronx River Road, TB. But when you take Webster Avenue north out of the Bronx, Webster will turn into Bronx River Road at the Westchester County line. It runs parallel to the Bronx River Parkway throughout the City of Yonkers. Anyway, the stations are literally right next to each other, just north of the county line (somewhere between 238th Street and Yonkers Avenue). I'm RARELY in that part of town. But my Dad's in Eastchester (and back on his own part-time, thank God). And there was a ton of traffic, so I jumped off the Bronx River Parkway at 233rd (near Woodlawn Cemetery), and took Webster Avenue and Bronx River Road straight up.

I know. It was approaching (or even at $5.00) at one time. To be down into the $2s, is like a real bargain!! TIS I think it's predicted in Revelation as a sign of the End Times: "There shall be lower gas prices and rumors of lower gas prices."

It went up to what $1.00 gallon and that was WAY high. TIS

When I started driving (1965) gas was $.29 a gallon and it had been that price for awhile and stayed there until 1970. Filled my Volkswagen Beetle for $3.00 and it lasted for a couple of weeks. MC, I posted a couple times that when I was young and it so happened that a friend who was lucky enough to have a license AND a car, that's when a group of us would scrounge up whatever change we had (10, 25 cents) to pay for gas to cruise around. 1 or 2 dollars went a long way. TIS

This isn't good. Gas is now in terminal freefall- falling too fast , too hard. We are going to see a credit crisis at the point these heavily leveraged oil and gas drillers fail.
Not to mention this isn't all a supply thing. It indicates a lack of demand, and hence a depression. We got one in Japan, weak data in China, essentially recession in europe.
Im kinda ready to sell equities.
Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison. I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate... for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here
