Guliani made it one of his missions to clean up the san gennaro feast and as far back as 1996 he declared it "free of mob influence". Over the ears there has been a some instances of mob involvement, like back in 2004 Criscitelli stepped down as head of the feast after some rat outed him as a made guy. then of course conrad ianellio's 2012 indictment involved him extorting some vendors at the feast.

on one hand it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it came out that some of the money from this years feast was going to go to the mob, but on the other its pretty much guaranteed that they'll never be able to run it like they used to.
