Georgia Southern was no joke, they gave us fits a few years ago. Might have been the year we stomped Notre Dame they put up like 200+ rushing yards on us and that triple option gave us fits.

Yea Muschamp is a good coach but just not sure good "head coach". Seems like he changed his style when he became head coach and that's not good.

Right now he reminds me of Gene Chizik, good recruiter but can't get the offense right (like Chizik AFTER Cam Newton). If Muschamp gets an offense they could win the East.

In this day and age, all of those small schools have a fighting chance. I remember us playing Mcneese St a few years back and we didn't pull away until mid third quarter. Needless to say I was VERY anxious pacing my row of chairs (it wasn't even close to being sold out)...I get animated for the games to say the least.

Yea but with the Big 5 now getting their chance to break away, I would venture to say a lot of those smaller schools will take a huge hit. More of the top players will quit going to the smaller schools since they have no shot at a title now since they wont be able to make the playoff. It will force a lot of the premiere recruits to stay with the big 5 conference teams instead of being able to go to the smaller schools where the academics are easier on them. Of course you'll still have some going there regardless because of grades.

It will take a few years for all this to happen but the days of the huge upsets in college football are almost over IMO.

like the chzik analogy good call.... love sec network.... u may have a point on small school reference but with the NFL finding tons of gems from small schools I think some guys who slip through the cracks will stay home or attend those smaller schools.... i used to love going to early september gator games and watch them roll up those smaller schools but not case w gators past 4 years... sometimes you can make some $$ of those small schools esp recently against bama and LSU.... take your 48 or 50 and hold on

the only thing I know about sec football is how lucky auburn was when they pulled off those miracles against Georgia, and Alabama, tell me auburn didn't have an angel on their shoulder. I hoped they get creamed this year.

What is the spread La Lou? On the pickem I had UGA by 7. I think South Carolina is pitiful this year especially on defense. They were way too slow for the likes of A&M.

Binnie you are correct. That was the luckiest run I believe I've ever seen in my life. The UGA player had the pick plain as day, hell all he had to do was just knock it down and game is over. Then against us we decide we didn't know he could return a short kick and then let him romp 108 yards to win. We had like 3 chances to seal that game in the 4th quarter and I knew after we didn't kick on the 4th and short that we didn't pick up that we would lose, but I thought it would come in overtime instead of at the end of the game.

They are still tough on offense but I don't see that luck staying with them again. I do think A&M, LSU and Bama beats them and there is a slight chance Kansas State beats them very soon as they have them at Kansas State next Thursday night I believe.

La Lou you can appreciate this story. My Mom grew up in Auburn and even my old man went to Auburn High School, I was born down there in Opelika and my Mom used to dress me and my brother up in Auburn gear when we were newborns. From the time I can remember we both ended up being diehard Bama fans with him being a season ticket holder.....lol. She even worked down there at a cafe when Shug Jordan was coach and she met him but never went to a game. In 2004 when they went undefeated and got snubbed (that sure was great) I took her to her first Auburn game against Kentucky. We had scholarship seats where we could go to the concession stand (no line by the way) and order what we wanted for free. We also had chairbacks and a shade the whole game with TV's in the walk way where I spent all my time watching Bama lose to Tennessee

Oh yea La Lou, who y'all got this weekend? We have Southern Miss at home. They used to be a thorn in our ass (they beat us with Favre one year and they even shut us out with me in the crowd at Legion Field one year) but I think we are 49 point favorites this weekend.

Gators struggled mightily against UK last week and I am no muschamp fan and think he shulda been canned last year after Ga Southern game... that being said i think that the gators have a great shot at the upset of Bama this weekend... Bama is down compared to last 7 years.... QB situation is not settled... cooper yeldon and safety collins are all top 10 picks in nfl gators may have one first round pick in dante fowler..... think bama is just hitting a down cycle this year.... but huge game for kiffin... im biased gator fan but i know a lil bit on my college football and hope its great game saturday night up in bama

We pretty much all down this year merlino. LSU is not number 8 in the nation yet we keep getting bumped up every time another team loses.

But Les Miles freaking keeps cranking it out every year....Can't stand FSU but I think they could be a lock to be there at end despite Winston FSU plays clemson this week, which may have been tight with winston and then they play notre dame and Boston College....not sure on Ole Miss...texas A & M seems to have it cranked up they have arkansas in 2 weeks....SEC beats one another up, this looks like the year that Oregon runs the table out west to get in the final 4

As I told you the other day they had no shot and they didn't. Bama had 4 turnovers and about 11 penalties yet they still doubled up Florida. Would have been even worse had that not happened.

Sims only went 23/33 445 yards and 4 TD's. If that is not settled then I'm not sitting here typing either.

Also would you like to repeat the comment about Bama not playing anyone and that Sims only put up good numbers against nobody's?

The two best teams we have played (Florida and WVU) Sims is only:

47/66 695 yards 4 TD's 2 INT's and another 54 yards rushing. Not bad for a QB that sucks eh? He also had a 73.2% completion percentage and 190.8 QB rating.

He is 16th in passing yards, 26th in TD's, 4th in passing efficiency, 28th in yards per game, and 14th in yards per completion. Not bad for a first year starter and someone still stuck in a QB battle as some would say.

You think Les jumps ship and goes to Michigan? I think Michigan fires ol big boy and they are going to need a big name. The heat could be turned up big time on Les down in BR this year I think, so I wonder if he leaves now? That was an ugly loss to MSU for sure.
