The Big Ten is weak - except maybe Ohio State. The Pac-XX is getting stronger. Florida State!! They are in the ACC. Who did they beat? Bethune Cookman! They do put up a lot of points. The PAC has been impressive, and some of the teams and players in the smaller conferences got recognition. My sons' friend, Matt Johnson, is having a great year at QB for Bowling Green. We've been following him as well as the center for Pitt and a defensive lineman for Ohio State that they also know. But this Heisman race shows how uninspiring the year has in comparison to others.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a team take such a big hit like they have. I still say it's a Bama/LSU battle more than likely but Bama has always played LSU better in Death Valley than they have at home. I wouldn't say Bama was vulnerable. After all it took some missed FG's and a freak play to put them out of the SEC Title game and national title on a year many didn't think we'd be in that spot (me included). Then add to the fact they didn't care about the Sugar Bowl since they had nothing to play for and we have the Sugar Bowl reincarnated (see Bama vs. Utah). While I'm not ready to say we're ready for the title just yet, I do think next years team will be better than this version.

I still think teams like Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss and even LSU will have too much depth for them. I still think they are a year or two away from being a real threat. We had a minimal scrimmage Saturday but Saban wouldn't release the QB stats since it stormed the whole time so it must of not looked good. Rumors are still that Coker will win the job but you just never know these days. Didn't you guys just lose a DT or DE for the year last week too to injury? Les is going to have to earn his money this year for sure. If they win 10 or more games I say the man deserves a raise.

Yes the SEC Network goes live at 5pm Central today. Merlino you listen to Finebaum? He has been a fixture here in Bama for YEARS. His show used to be better than it is now, especially when he had a sidekick. When he was still on AM radio stations is when he was at his best. I think they show his show on ESPNU and ESPN2 some now or was and the SEC Network I think will probably have his full show I'd imagine. Helps me because I'm generally inside during his show and don't have a radio nearby so now I can watch him instead of listening.
