Corleone you think that you can say what you want, but, what is happening with people like M.MOORE that are being attacked just because they dont support BUSH¿?¿?
Michael Moore is not attacked because he doesnt support Bush. He is attacked because he's a delusional whack job who doesnt know what the fuck hes talking about.
Just wondering, RB and DMC. How many Moore books have you read and how many Moore movies have you seen? You're sounding like DJ, whose opinion on Moore is useless and ignored because he has never read or watched anything by Moore. -Pat
Actually Pat, I have seen two of Moores films, and while I admit they were done well, I feel I can say with confidence that he is evil and has no grasp on reality.

Does it take more balls to sit back and make a film full of slanderous information, or attempt to send a positive message through the right channels to actually initiate change?

Of course, he could be in it for the money, too.
Hmm. Let's see: "Moore--bad for putting 'lies' into his film."
"P. Diddy and rappers-- bad for encouragine people to vote!" Isn't that positive either?

Make up your mind.

Moore's in it for the money? Wow. That company that aired that Stolen Honors movie, he offered them to play Fahrenheit 9/11 for FREE. When Comcast pulled out of its' deal to show it for $9.95, he offered it to them for FREE too. -Pat
Pat, you are such a silly boy.

First, learn to spell. "Encouragine" sounds like some kind of enema.

Secondly, I don't have to make up my mind. Moore is a liar (as politicians are, as well.)

That's the bottom line. w00t.

P.Diddy, et al, getting the vote out. w00t. I don't think they are positive role models, that's all. I never said they shouldn't encourage people to vote, the act itself.

And if Moore didn't want to make money, why release it in theatres? Why not put it on broadcast television? I mean, it's a legit documentary, right?

Because more people would see it in theatres then on TV.

Right.

Very good. But forgive me if I don't consider a decadent thug like P.Diddy as a positive role model for today's youth.

Think about what you just said.

Are you saying that a movie theatre has a larger potential viewer demographic than public television?

Yes. Not everyone has the same form of TV and a lot of people can't even afford to pay $80 a month for cable. Also, there were tons of free viewings for the movie. -Pat

Public television is free. And nearly, if not all, American households have a TV.

TV = PUBLIC BROADCASTING RECEPTION

NOT CABLE

PUBLIC TELEVISION BROADCASTING

You're telling me more people would rather pay $8 plus to see a movie than utilize a FREE GOOD?!?!?!?!?!

w00t.

So 1337.

I'm saying that not all people have TV and that this movie wouldn't be allowed to be on "public broadcasting" unless it's edited. Moore would NEVER let it be edited. He appealed the R rating, but failed to get it to PG-13 because they wanted violent images and language taken out. That means that this movie would only be seen UNCUT on a channel like Cinemax, HBO, etc. I don't even get those. -Pat

1.) Not all people have a TV? What generation do you live in? Let's get real.

FREE BROADCAST

v.

$8+ for going to a movie theatre

Your argument is economically illogical, in the idea that more people would pay for a theatre than if they could get the same thing for free.

2.) Not be edited? We all saw the towers come down. We know those images. If Moore won't edit his work, it's his own fault, for not trying to appeal to the masses.

I had to laugh reading this at IMDB about Arafat.

Reportedly a huge "Tom and Jerry" fan. He would make guests wait if they interrupted him watching an episode until it had finished. :p

I wonder if Bin Laden likes the Power Rangers.

Ah, here comes the Grand Inquisitor again.

1.) I killed the American natives? Sumbitch! I wish someone would've told me.

Last time I checked, that would be the French, Spanish, and British who colonized North America, NOT the United States, since we conveniently didn't exist.

And sure, after our country was formed, there were conflicts with indians. Andrew Jackson comes to mind.

Ho-hum. It was Europe who sought to expand to the new world, and the Columbian Exchange (alcohol, disease, et al) was brought about by YOUR country.

2.) I killed Kennedy? MLK? Holy shit! I was dangerous from the womb! I fucking rock.

America didn't kill Kennedy, or MLK. PEOPLE killed those two figures. It wasn't like an entire country plotted to whack these two people.

Then again, Spain did send Cortez to latin america to take Montezuma's gold and slaughter the "heathens."

3.) I don't consider terrorists to be "innocent people."

Civilians, yes.

Terrorists, no.

4.) I do know my history, thanks.

(anxiously awaits another round of American injustices, including but not limited to: supporting Israel, bombing Japan, fighting the American Revolution, fighting the civil war, fighting in WWI, fighting in WWII, the Alamo, the Louisiana Purchase, and of course, electing President Bush.

Amen to that!

Oops, we can't say amen. It might bring about remembrance of Ferdinand and Isabella and their quest to spread Christianity everywhere, including some rather nasty practices with some Jews who wouldn't convert. :p

OK, lets put the shoe on the other foot and look at this hypothetically..... you belong to a message board in your own country, and a new member (from a different country) comes along and starts belittling Juan Carlos, and starts writing about all those things that he believes are wrong with Spain. Wouldn't you be offended? Wouldn't you become "indignant"? (that was YOUR choice of word).

Now, before you begin a defense with "I didn't start this", consider what your very first post here was. It was a very derogatory picture of the American president. Do you have the right to post such a picture? Yes, you do, but you must also be prepared to take the heat from those who don't agree with you.

You seem like a bright fellow... I don't understand why you don't "get that".

SC, i totally agree with you.
I didnt know that you were so identified with your president, here, we are not. We make jokes with our presidents and nothing happens. Well, SC, juan carlos is not our president , hes the king, and we didnt elect him. You can make the comments you want about our president , i wont get offended although i support him. i think that the discussion went unreasonable, and i apologise if somebody felt offended with some of my comments. But one thing i want to mention is that i have been insulted and i havent insulted anyone here. From now i want to post here peacefully , respecting others and being respected.

These political discussions tend to become heated... I guess thats the nature of politics. If you ever feel that another Board member is acting in an insulting manner you can simply use the "Report Post" feature ( ) found on the bottom of every message, and one of the moderators or Geoff (the Administrator) will look into the matter and take appropriate action if necessary.

I applaud you for your desire to post peacefully.

We joke about our political leaders here as well Nicholas (Unfortunately). But that doesnt make it justified to partake or even condone such activities. I myself am very patriotic, and no offense on you, Spain, or any other foreigner; but I get very angry when somebody who isnt American starts bashing my President.

Nicholas,

First of all, let me welcome you to our board. I do believe you are the only member from Spain.

As SC said, these political threads do get quite heated and in America our opinions on this war are divided, though I think we are united in our patriotism.

I agree with you, and worry very much about our relationship with other countries because of this war and do believe our actions can affect other countries. Not being from America, can you however, give specific examples that we may not be aware of as to how this war/President is affecting your country so we can all have a better understanding?

Once again welcome!

Just to be fair, I think I've seen some "bashing" of other foreign leaders by some American here.

glad you like spain scarface, yeah, we are friendly people and we are always ready for partying and all that stuff

TIS and Plawrence thanks for your understanding.
i assure you that here, we have tons of reasons for hating Mr. Bush.
i dont know if you know this but the 11th march of this year, alquaeda killed more than 200 people here in Madrid.... they put bombs in some trains at 6 :00 in the morning.... most of the killed people were teenagers who went early in the morning to take the train to go to school.... they attacked us because our former president Aznar supported Bush and sent our troops to irak, Aznar made his deccision without hearing the opinion of spanish people.... in the enquires 85%OF SPANISH PEOPLE WERE AGAINST THE WAR.you know, guys, here in Spain we are fed up of people like AZNAR an ultraconservative whose father supported the dictatorship we had to stand here in Spain for 40 years.
we are peaceful people, we never had any problems with presidents like Ronald Reagan or Bill Clinton......
In the 30s spain suffered the civil war , one of the most cruel and bloodthirsties wars ever, general Franco won, and we had to stand his "nazi"dictatorship for more than 40 years.... since 1975 we are again a democracy and WE DONT WANT ANY WAR UNLESS IT IS REALLY NECCESARY.
Supporting your president war, the only thing we got was death, and one of the greatests tragedies in our country.... alquaeda sent a message and you know what the message was? "this happens to you for supporting that son of a b*TCH"
More than 200 people were killed and more than 500 were badly injured.... in the funeral held in Madrid ,our Royal family were devastated you must have seen them, you must have seen the families that lost their children.... and all this for what?
Aznars party , of course, lost the re election, and the socialist party won the election with the 65%of the votes.
This is only one reason of many we have, and i repeat i dont hate America at all, i just hate his president and his nonsense.

And another thing..... our new president J.L ZAPATERO has just sent a message congratulating Mr Bush for his re election and he has got no reply....he has said it this week, and he is so dissapointed.... he was trying to start a good relationship with him but, you know, as hes not a conservative and as hes sent our troops back to SPAIN because He DOESNT WANT THE SAME TRAGEDY TO HAPPEN AGAIN, it seems that he doesnt deserves a reply

Still i see no changes..........

I'm laughing at the fact that some people here are saying they never insult foreign leaders. Castro? Saddam? Arafat? Minh? Anything? :p
