Hey, don't laugh (I mean that rhetorically because it IS funny). Because Jerry Lewis worked for just as many wiseguys early in his career as Sinatra and Dean. It was just the nature of the business back then. You couldn't cut your teeth in a nightclub act back then without brushing up against those guys. And I hate Joan Rivers anyway .

She used to be funny we saw her at the upstairs at the downstairs more then once. The room was cold she like to perform in a cold room.

Loved Jerry Lewis as a kid. He used to do live bits before a new movie that he was in would open at theathers in NYC.

Met him and his first wife once it was opening night of the musical chorus Line. We were sitting 2 rows in the orchestra section. They had the aisle seats.

That is too funny. Yeah a lot of the performers who did acts in clubs rubbed shouldiers with mobsters. Richard Prior rubbed shouldiers with many gangsters growing up, even joked about it on stage. Jerry Lewis did know some highier ups back then too.

He and Dino got their huge break at Skinny Amato's nightclub in Atlantic City, where Sinatra also got his break. Skinny was Mobbed up. For that matter, it's hard to imagine any nightclub owner who didn't have business with the Mob in the Forties and Fifties.

Did the mob run the Stork Club?

As for Jerry Lewis, perhaps only the mob could have foisted him on us.

I think this thread needs to be bumped up.

It needs to be renamed "Did Jerry Lewis Whack Joan Rivers?".

jerry lewis is an egotiscal old man, he couldn't get a mouse hit,he always thought he knew people, he used to kiss giancanas but. giancana despised the phony. dean martin made him, he never had any talent, hes been a washed up old clown for many, many years.
