This was surprising, would have never picked Detroit, and would not have had Boston and Philly that high on the list. Article link is below 10. San Jose 9. Detroit 8. Houston 7. Boston 6. Philadelphia 5. San Francisco 4. D.C. 3. Chicago 2. L.A. 1. NYC http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/14...tle=10_San_Jose

Boca's not quite the richest, NNY78. But this was just in yesterday's Broward/Palm Beach Times, and they're calling it the best this year. I read it online every day, and when I saw the article I thought of you. Of course I'm partial to Delray, but Boca's okay, too . http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/pulp/2..._study_says.php

# of millionaires in cities doesn't make a city "wealthy"--more poor people in most big cities. A better measure, IMO, is the median price of a home--the more money you have to spend for a home, the wealthier the community: http://www.city-data.com/top3.html Exactly. Nothing says "I got mine" like property values .

I would of thought the island of Palm Beach would have been higher on the list you provided TB. I see Jupiter Island made it.

so you're statement ain't always true Are you retarded? TB pointed out MEDIAN property values. That means average . And what does someone living in government assisted housing know about home ownership? But you can keep dreaming, Cook. Keep hope alive an all that. Well we're movin on up, to the east side. To a dee---luxe apartment in the sky---ay---ay. Movin on up, to the east side. We finally got a piece of the pie.

Yeah they tried that with a building in my city. Nice high rise place by the Hudson River. Some paid rent, some got handouts. Eventually all the people paying rent left cause the ones getting handouts destroyed the place. Now it's basically a project building 100%, but who could have ever expected a different result?

Although its' not incorporated, Hobe Sound in Florida might very well be the wealthiest community in the US. Nice area, Oli .

actually the tenants are majority young single mothers Translation: 16 years old, no self-control, one bastard child, and another on the way.

@blacksheep
actually the tenants are majority young single mothers, it's just in a bad neighborhood
@pizzaboy
you act like somebody near and dear to you got fucked by a brother The young single mothers might not bring the violence but they're just as bad for property values and living conditions. I'm sure the people working all day to pay their rent didn't like to come home to a bunch of girls looking like Precious screaming and swearing at their 5 kids 24 hours a day. Mixed income buildings never work.

Although its' not incorporated, Hobe Sound in Florida might very well be the wealthiest community in the US. Nice area, Oli . A tornado touched down near Hobe Sound a couple hours ago, some damage to one of the County airport hangers and a few homes and businesses. There has been some rough weather down here so far this summer.

@blacksheep
the single mothers ain't bad for property value because they live on "lakefront property"
they charge extra for lakefront property
the problem is some of the areas considered lakefront propery ain't anywhere near the lake I was talking more about the place near me that I'm familiar with. But in general when you get a bunch of people loafing around on section 8, the people who work regular jobs and know regular people who live civilized lives and don't associate with a bunch of thugs and such, they tend to move out to live near people more like them. With the section 8 crowd comes all the things associated with them. Loud obnoxious people hanging around all hours of the day and night, litter and poorly maintained areas, cheap bodegas making their money selling loosies and blunt wraps, etc.. I see it here every day. So it isn't specifically the young single moms, but everything that inevitably follows when they show up
