Yes. They should beat Seattle this weekend, and if the Giants beat the Cowboys, the Packers will have home field advantage for the NFC Championship game, and be solid favorites to get to the Super Bowl. Even if they have to play in Dallas next week, they still have a legitimate chance of winning.

If they get to the Super Bowl, I wouldn't give them much of a chance against New England, but they would have a shot against the Colts although I wouldn't bet on them.

So at least there is a slight possibility! when is the super bowl?

The Patriots and Colts are favored to advance this week as are the Packers and Cowboys.

The Patriots are favored to make and win the Super Bowl while I believe the Cowboys are slight favorites to make it to the Super Bowl because they would have the home field throughout the play-offs, but as I said, the Packers have a real shot at them. And don't count out the Giants from pulling off an upset this weekend against the Cowboys.

I wouldn't be shocked to see any of the 4 remaining NFC teams in the Super Bowl.

Yeah. They are more evenly matched than the remaining AFC teams. I see the Giants as more likely than the Seahawks to get to the Super Bowl.

The closest thing the AFC has to parity is Colts-Pats.

I predict we'll be watching both Manning brothers on Super Bowl Sunday...but it will be in the commercials.

Even if the Manning brothers both made it to Championship Sunday, that would be really cool.

I'll also be rooting for the Jags this weekend. That'd give us another home playoff game. But maybe it would be more satisfying to beat the Pats in Foxboro.

No way will Eli and the Giants make it. The guy is so inconsistent that he will never hold a candle to Peyton.

I know I am in the minority, but I think the Jags have a good shot at knocking off NE. Perhaps even the best shot of any remaining playoff teams.

Seattle won last week, but did everything to give that game away. That is the most deceptive final score I have seen in a long time. Washington was in that game with 5:00 to go and could have gone ahead of Seattle 21-13. I predict Seattle will get throttled by Favre & Co.

They have the 2nd best shot, goombah. A lot of people seem to think the Jags have a shot. I know I do, it should be a good game.

Disgraced Jones could be jailed

American Olympian Marion Jones could be sent to jail when she is sentenced in New York later on Friday.
The former sprinter pleaded guilty last October to lying about steroid use and involvement in a drugs fraud case.

Lawyers for the defence have requested US District Judge Kenneth Karas limit sentencing the former sprinter to probation or house arrest.

Having already apologised, retired and given up her five Olympic medals, Jones has been punished enough, they argue.

And lawyers for the prosecution have suggested any sentence between probation and six months would be fair.

But Judge Karas has sought advice as to whether he could go beyond the six-month maximum sentence suggested in a plea deal, indicating that he could order the former sprinter to serve two consecutive sentences.

Fall from glory

Once arguably the most famous female athlete in the world, Jones won gold in the 100 metres, 200m and 4x400m relay as well as bronzes in the long jump and 4x100m relay, at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

While her charisma and big smile won her a global fanbase, her success on the track coupled with photogenic looks won her lucrative endorsements.

But she suffered a spectacular fall from glory last October, admitting lying to a federal investigator in November 2003 when she denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

She admitted using a steroid between September 2000 and July 2001.

Ms Jones, now 32, also pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators in 2003 about a separate cheque fraud case involving her former boyfriend, sprinter Tim Montgomery, the father of her son, Monty.

Montgomery and several others have been convicted in that scam.

Tearful apology

Released pending sentencing, Jones made a heart-felt public apology for her actions outside the court.

"It's with a great amount of shame that I stand before you and tell you that I have betrayed your trust," she said, fighting back tears.

"I have been dishonest, and you have the right to be angry with me. I have let (my family) down. I have let my country down, and I have let myself down."

Jones, who returned her medals even before the International Olympic Committee ordered her to do so, has since had her name expunged from the record books.

Hers was one of a number of high-profile doping cases involving top American athletes that have prompted the US Olympic Committee to team up with Major League Baseball and the National Football League with a new initiative aimed at combating drug use in American sport.

Good to see the Packers win

I don't know, in the divisional round I could see the home teams winning all four. But you're right, it doesn't always happen. I will be shocked if both #1 seeds go to the Super Bowl.

I think the Giants have a shot. A shaky Romo, a hurt TO, Jessica Simpson plus the Giants' good defense could brew together for an upset.
