The game was truly astonishing, never have i seen a team score 5 goals in the first 30 minutes, Brazil where awful but Germany was brilliant.. If they don't win the WC now then last nights result will be a waste..

4 goals in 6 minutes in a WC semi is unbelievable. Last night was seriously embarrasing for Brazil considering Germany drew 2-2 with Brazil and Algeria took them to extra time.

Argentina v Dutch

For the first 75 minutes it was the back pass game. One forward pass one back pass one forward pass one back pass two forward passes two back passes.

Then both teams tried to win it before regulation ended.

Then they go extra time Argentina almost had it twice if I recall right.

Then it goes to Pk. Evidetly, the Dutch keeper was pissed off when they took him out the last game.

So the Dutch coach let the starting keeper defend against them. It didn't work.

Being tall is an advantage for a keeper. But on pk you have to start low not high. It is easier to come up on a ball. One pk went under his arm.

I hate quessing a side because guess the wrong side a bad pk scorers.

Argentine shot in the center of the goal you don't guess you get that ball. Dutch keeper did not make that save.

Well there will be no new winner in this WC.

Argentina v Germany for The WC.

Messi doesn't have enough help. He had the one winger, but he got hurt. I feel to win the thing you got to have three dangerous players, and good supporting players.

On the 86 argentine team you had the amazing Maradona, you had Valdano and Burruchaga and a very good supporting cast.

This Argentine team does not have those players.to win Messi has to takeover the game at some point. By his passing, by his inside attacking game or by hitting a free kick.

Germany as usual has many impact players on that team. They are very well coached. They can attack in a lot of ways. They also do the little things you need to do to win. There team as a group can play together as a team. Most of their team is made up of the two top teams in the Bundesliga and in the world they can play together

On paper they should win the WC easily. But they actually play the game for a reason so I will wait and see what happens.

Can't wait.

Do we really want to see a game for third place in this tournament a game that no one will remember the result of in a month? Let me think shit yea. Who can get enough of this not me.

Last nights game was a snore fest!! Argentina have manage to get to the Final without really impressing. You would have to say Germany are favourites!!

There was one part of the game between both teams they just kept hitting the ball almost straight up in the air 8 or 9 times. I could not get over that.

Both teams in the first 75 minutes just wanted to control the ball. No forward movement after a forward pass they back passed. It acomplished nothing except to keep possession. That was the boring part.

In the 1980s their was a team in the Bundesliga I think it was Stuttgart that was the best team in their league back then if I remember right.

Any time they made a back pass their fans whistled their boo. They would have been whistling through most of the game if they saw Argentina v Netherlands game.

Yes I do, but if Messi can take over the game by himself for 15 minutes then it might be possible for Argentina to win this game.

Argentina v. Germany - this could be a Holy War. Argentina (Pope Francis), Germany (ex-Pope Benedict).

Dig this after the WC

Reading reports that Suarez is cleared to sign for Barcelona...

Barca with a front three of Suarez, Messi, & Neymar.

It might be like Napales when they had Magica

I agree with Messi on the field anything is possible, but I just don't see them beating Germany. I say 2-1 Germany with Muller and Messi scoring.

Brazils defence is embarrasing rolleyes . T.Silva is one of my favourite defenders, but David Luiz is dreadful and to think FIFA had him rated as the best player before the semi lol . Good finish by Blind but he should never of had the chance in the first place.

It's crazy the booking on the PK should have been a Red card not yellow. Brazil should be playing down a player. Half 2-0

This is FIFA's announced shortlist for the Golden Ball.

Argentina - Angel Di Maria, Javier Mascherano and Lionel Messi. Germany - Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Phillip Lahm and Thomas Muller. Columbia - James. Brazil - Neymar. Holland - Robben.

Toni Kroos or Lionel Messi for me so far, i hope yet doubt James will get at least the Bronze.

Also the former winners.

1930 - Jose Nasazzi (Uruguay)

1934 - Giuseppe Meazza (Italy)

1938 - Leonidas (Brazil)

1950 - Zizinho (Brazil)

1954 - Ferenc Puskas (Hungary)

1958 - Didi (Brazil)

1962 - Garrincha (Brazil)

1966 - Bobby Charlton (England)

1970 - Pele (Brazil)

1974 - Johan Cruyff (Netherlands)

1978 - Mario Kempes (Argentina)

1982 - Paolo Rossi (Italy)

1986 - Diego Maradona (Argentina)

1990 - Salvatore Schillaci (Italy)

1994 - Romario (Brazil)

1998 - Ronaldo (Brazil)

2002 - Oliver Kahn (Germany)

2006 - Zinedine Zidane (France)

2010 - Diego Forlan (Uruguay)

The only previous winner of the ones i've seen that i disagree with is Zidane in 2006. He was great and deserved Silver imo, but he was bad against Switzerland and average against South Korea and missed the Togo game through suspension. He was amazing in the knockout stage but i still feel FIFA were compensating for snubbing him in 98 and also because he was retiring. Cannavaro was great in every game for Italy and deserved the award imo. I also feel Iniesta deserved at least the Bronze in 2010.

Messi was good in the group stages but has not done much in the knock out stages in my opinion. I think the award should go to one from Kroos, Muller or Rodríguez. I'm also not sure why Neymar is on the list..

To be honest i agree with you on Messi, but i didn't wan't to just name a load of German players tongue . James was my favourite of the tournament but there's no chance he'll get even the Bronze ball, he'd be the first Quarterfinalist in a 32 team tournament too if he did.

While Muller has been great i'd probably have Lahm and Neuer ahead of him as well as Messi who has done more for his team as a whole imo. Neuer has obviously not been shortlisted because he'll win the Golden Gloves award, but i think his aforementioned sweeper contributions have been ignored.

Neymar deserved his inclusion imo at least. He was the only presence Brazil had in attack for their first 5 games, seeing him limping into the tunnel in his full kit made me feel horrible for him. I don't think he deserves any awards, but i do think he was one of the top 10 players of the tournament.

The award i'm wondering about is the young player award. I can't think of anyone who's under 21 that's featured prominently enough to deserve it, like Muller in 2010 and Podolski 4 years ealier. Am i forgetting someone?

I agree with this, i'll wonder for years how the much superior Columbia or Chile teams would've done against Germany.

Off the top of my head i can only think of Paul Pogba for France but he's over 21 i believe .
