I doubt that Georgie is taking back whats his or whatever with the Valvo brothers, doesn't work like that in real life- more than likely his brother was taking care of his rackets while he was in jail and now he's back etc..
There's so many high ranking members, not enough administration spots.
It's called all chiefs, no Indians. And that's how every criminal organization, starting with the Roman Empire, fell apart.
When they arrest a mafioso in Italy, they always write in the newspapers "a boss has been arrested", no matter what his real rank in the organization is. The only cases when they don't call them bosses is when the arrested ones are politicians (in these cases they never go beyond saying "alleged mafia associates").
Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:
1) "You people want a loaf of bread and you throw the crumbs back. Well, fuck you. I ain't closing down."
2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

Frank Narducci just got out of jail literally 10 days ago and I still highly doubt Borgesi is boss

Again, I don't know anything about Philly other than the general. information. But the Philly poster whose opinion I respect most (on another board), says it's absolute bullshit. So that's how I'm leaning. Time will tell, though .

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's bullshit too I don't doubt that he's still the consigliere but definitely not the boss.

In addition there are not enough rackets.... drugs i guess but weed is kinda legalized in philly now, gambling is full blown half mile from s philly, jersey and delaware are gonna have sportsbooks... i mean you always having gambling and loansharking there but its a lot of hands for not alot of $$$ and alot of time in prison....i mean these dudes aint the sharpest just look at niccodemo, who as stated might just put them all back in prison. What about that one dave s report that georgie and uncle joe were on the scene as cops busted up after hours joints a few months ago
Where is a link or a source to this story? Borgesi isn't allowed to associate with any of the main players he was convicted with so are we to suppose he's using the Salvo brothers who have no weight on the streets using his name all over South Philly? I don't think George would be that stupid to let anyone use his name on the street after the trouble he faced with Bent Finger Lou claiming he did the same. Anthony his brother would be the logical choice to do that for him if anyone. His brother is everywhere around South Philly and also seems to have a crew around him every time I have seen him but I don't think some or any of these guys are muscle, some of them are just over 5 feet tall. George is probably going to remain low key until his parole is up or perhaps his lighting rod federal attention will keep him out of the top spot and he will go low key.
Also, for those who know, how big is the Italian population in South Philly? How is the recruiting pool? From what I understand, Scarfo absolutely decimated the family. Do they still make any money? They don't even have any unions.

I hope Uncle Joe retires to Boca with Joey so I can have a front row seat.... In other Breaking News, the anonymous source for the Borgesi Story tells The National Enquirer that Elvis killed President Kennedy.

Borgesi the new boss? I doubt it. More likely nothing happening in Philly and the newspaper just need to print something.

Where do you guys get all this info from to fuel the speculation. Who told you Borgesi was despised on the streets? Was it this forum because people made fun of him? Was it the George Anastasia articles? Why is he despised and who despised him. Does anyone realize that Borgesi Mazzone and Merlino fought for this and are all very close. I just don't get why it's so unbelievable, seems about right to me. The salvo brothers hold no weight? Not true. George doesn't look Italian enough to be boss? You can't be muscle is you're five feet tall? You guys stick to the message boards lol
I found the article on www.cosanostranews.com It was posted on July 9th. And I just copied the article on here. And while all of us have plenty opinions, nobody on here can say for a fact if its true or.not. everything in the article seems legit to me. All the past wire taps George has been saying that Ligambi was just keeping the seat warm. And 15 years ago he was made consig. So to hear that he is making a move to be boss sounds about right to me. Like I said earlier, Mazzone and Chang can make the same amount money without so much heat on them and all the headaches. Nobody wants the top spot these days.

Surely you mean Phil Narducci, not Frank? Phil is the power in the family.

Mazzone has been the top guy since 2011 so now he has to kick up obviously he won't be making the same amount.
George Borgesi, 50, is trying to take the big seat, a source told Cosa Nostra News, but he is facing pressure from allies of Joseph "Skinny Joey" Merlino.
Borgesi ain't no Joe Ligambi would be an understatement; the two (Uncle Joe really is Borgesi's uncle) don't like each other. Skinny Joey doesn't like Borgesi, either.
But Georgie Boy has nevertheless been trying to assert himself -- and one person telling him to stop is Skinny Joey, through his viceroys on the street: Stevie Mazzone and John "Johnny Chang" Ciancaglini, both of whom are from the tough South Philadelphia faction.
Borgesi, Merlino, Mazzone and Ciancaglini were all convicted of racketeering in 2001. They all recently got out, as well, Borgesi last because of the Ligambi trials.
Merlino, 51, has been living in Florida since his release from prison three years ago and insists he has no desire to return to South Philadelphia.
Mazzone and Ciancaglini, are back in the old neighborhood. Law enforcement and underworld sources allege Ciancaglini controls mob gambling and loan-sharking in Delaware County, an area where Borgesi once held sway.
Apparently, Borgesi has been acting like the boss, and he may well be a boss -- but not anywhere near Delaware County. In fact, Borgesi was told in no uncertain terms to stay out of Delaware County.
What sources can an internet blogging site have in Philly? Sounds like there looking for headlines, Borgesi is on parole yet he's trying to assert himself as boss, without the help of the Merlino faction or the old Scarfo guys? hahaha biggest piece of shit article I've read...
I highly doubt mazzone kicked up to Ligambi. And steve and George have been tight since they were kids. I am sure if Stevie steps down as acting boss for George then they will have something worked out. Do any of you remember everything Borgesi said on the wiretaps??? Uncle Joe was keeping the seat warm for him, mazzone and merlino and they fought for the family and its THERE family. Them 3 are all on the same page and with Merlino relaxing in Florida, if he's still official boss, he don't care who runs day to day as long as he gets his, and Mazzone and Borgesi will both take care of him. And still I am not saying the story is 100% definitely true, I am saying it makes sense to me.
Everybody knows Borgesi thinks he's a tough guy and thinks he's owed something. He's gonna end up back in jail soon.enough especially after his parole officer reads this article and sees that Georgie is out there starting all types of shit with everyone. Its not even worth it anymore.

You actually think this article is true? wow.
You talk about Merlino not being dumb, yet he'd hand over the day to day to an incapable Borgesi, a guy on parole...over a capable guy like Mazzone..ok then.

Do you know who operates that BLOGGING site, because that's what it is. They have no sources, Don't be naive. There looking for headlines.
