Well, as a very young country (in general), I think we've done okay. If not more than necessary at this point, sometimes. But, God bless America! (And everyone else!)
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol
