Giuliani was a Democrat, sure.... way back when. He's moderate on some social issues, which is why he gets strong moderate support. He's a Conservative Republican, though-- no different than Bush on foreign policy, military, economy. It's the social issues that gets him all the attention as a Moderate or even Liberal-ish... truth is if he was President, most people wouldn't notice the change from Bush to him, as the stances on these few social issues don't mean very much.
