Joey is still the official boss Mazzone is the acting boss and he's a Merlino guy him and Joey are very close so Joey is definitely running the family through Mazzone.
I mean this is the most likely scenario but I guess these guys dont wanna believe it since he is in Florida. But the latest information we have from the tapes and the feds is that Joey has been Official boss, uncle Joe was acting for him while he was in the can.
Now with Ligambi having his legal troubles he stepped back to more of a consig type role or maybe he stepped down completely, and Mazzone is acting boss.
Everyone knows Mazzone has always been Joey's guy, so it makes perfect sense that he is the one that put him there.
