From what I read, there was a sit down about it but his captain, Salvatore "Sally Dogs" Lombardi, decided there would be no retaliation because Amato had been a longtime mob member and should have known better to be in that place when a war was going on.

I have read that too, but I have heard that Gigante sent word to Lombardi that the vault was on Amato and not the Persico faction for that shooting, and to make sure that Sally Dogs set his crew straight on that so that no retaliation would be taken.
