so i just read a brief story about the Banana War in the 60s. during this time, lots of assassination happened along with some shootouts too. i'm curious how many mafiosi were killed during this Bonanno civil war? does anyone in here has info?

in the list of names were these guys young like 18-30yrs old or they old guys shooting for the top. in the Colombo war90ty persico had a gang of unmade youngsters doing the hits. almost 25 yes later they turn rat tell about all the people they killed for the Colombia and there only 45. I think Massimo killed Thomas summa if I remember reading it was his first. that I was a steel job and rusty was gonna kill.whoever did it.

Joe " Little Joe" Notaro in 66' Capo
Pasquale Zirpoli in 66' Soldier
Frank "Spedito" Deluca in 67' Soldier
Michaelangelo Vitale in 67' Soldier/Capo, Killed in Sicily by the Buccellato clan.
Santo Manfre in 68' Soldier
Joseph Spadaro in 68' Soldier
Michael "Mike Angelo" Angelina in 68' Soldier

The war ended pretty much when Joe Bonanno retired in 68'. The last two members to be killed from this war were
Gaspare Magaddino in 70' Soldier. Killed for killing Frank "The 500" Telleri, James and Tommy "Smitty" DiAngelo. One of the members rumored to be in the hit team was Phillip "Philly Lucky" Giaccone.
Anthony Spadaro in 70' Soldier for seeking revenge for Joseph.

There were 4 or 5 other killings in 1970, but it is hard to say if they were related to the family war. If you take into consideration of the members that died of stress during the war, then you could add another dozen other members to the list. I will say that the 1960's were bad for the DiGregorio's health, Armando and Bart in 65', Antonio and Matteo in 69', and Gaspare in 70'.

pmac, the youngest member killed was Salvatore "Hank" Perrone at the age of 37 or 38. Average age these guys were in their 50's to 60's, but I am sure some of the killers were in their 20's trying to earn membership. Both sides were going after members and associates usually just got a beat down.
