True Clinton did not get 50% of the popular vote, but both times he easily won the popular vote. In 1996 he did get more votes than Dole & Nader put together and in 1992 Nader put in the best ever showing by a "third" candidate in terms of votes cast (over 19mill). Also as Republicans have been pointing out from Nov 2000 until today, it's not about who wins the popular vote.
