I've always wondered this. I should have asked that Lebanese guy on Knickerbocker that question because he knew Carmine but I don't live near there anymore. Does anyone know the answer to this obscure question? So you've lived in New England, Brownsville, Knickerbocker, Jerome Avenue. Anywhere else? And why would Galante have a Sicilian accent? He was born and raised in East Harlem.

Well cause his parents were from castellemare de golfo That's actually a fair question, then. You see a lot of Latinos born in NYC who actually have an "accent." But the older immigrants were different. They made it their business to learn the language. My own grandparents were all adults when they came here from Italy, and when they died they all spoke passable English. No, I have lived only in New England, Knickerbocker and Crown Heights Well, then you certainly get around. But you once stated that you hung around Jerome: http://www.gangsterbb.net/threads/ubbthr...true#Post739595

When someone has parents with accents, do they pick it up as a child or do they adapt to it in whatever society? My husband has a couple of very close friends that were born in the US but their parents were born in sicily and have always spoken to their kids in Italian. As a result, the kids have grown up with heavy accents when they speak english. Thank you

I was just doing a little trolling. You? I don't believe it! And I'm just having some fun with you, son .
